Hi, I really love your site, and unlike many others, yours is truly scientific. However, regarding this food item, isn't it surprising that chicken breast would have a lower-quality protein?

Hi Anthony,

I understand what you're saying—it does seem counterintuitive considering what we know about poultry meat. Personally, I suspect the USDA made an error here, and chicken breast likely contains a higher amount of threonine (the limiting amino acid), and a PDCAAS of 1, indicating high protein quality. However, I’m relying on the USDA's data for now, which you can find here: https://fdc.nal.usda.gov/fdc-app.html#/food-details/171125/nutrients. I feel it's important to stick to their findings, but I may consider adding an image linked to a more credible entry for chicken breast in my database so it appears more prominently in search results.
